Castle Ashby

A stunning 10,000-acre estate located in the heart of Northampton, Castle Ashby is a rural escape between the busy city of London and the bustling counties of Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire, the perfect location for all kinds of events.

Steeped with heritage and culture, this 16th century home was originally built in 1574 for Queen Elizabeth I, however, the property has been home to the Compton family for over fourteen generations now, with members of this extensive family still inhabiting the property now.

Best known for the land surrounding the architecture, the Castle Ashby Gardens have been carefully designed and maintained for the pleasure of visitors. Originally constructed in 1868, the Walled Gardens are a particular feature of the landscape at Castle Ashby, spanning 4 acres and boasting 3-metre high limestone walls, this enclosed area of the gardens has become a key event space in the grounds, creating a secluded hideaway for all kinds of special occasions.

A venue this stunning deserves to be shared, hence this is the perfect location for an array of different events. Castle Ashby’s Walled Gardens is available for exclusive hire for occasions such as weddings, concerts, fairs and is also suitable for use for photo shoots and filming. Although the Walled Gardens are currently the only available space on the estate for private hire, there are future plans in progress to open more areas within the venue for public use.
