The Blades Annual Charity Ball was a truly unforgettable experience. The Blades are an aerobatic team, based at the Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire and host an annual ball to help raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund, Aerobility and the Northampton Town Football Club Community Trust. This year we had the incredible privilege to be a part of raising an astonishing £80,000 for these charities. We have had the pleasure to work alongside The Blades for five years now and it is always such a fantastic evening. This year was no different!

When guests started arriving, they were greeted with a refreshing glass of Pimms and a selection of our cool, fruity Belvoir Presse. Whilst sitting outside enjoying the glorious sunshine, the guests were able to indulge in some of our tasty canapes such as ‘Lamb fillet, pine nut, parsley, lemon (n) (gf) (df)’, ‘Shaoxing wine cured salmon, nori, pickled daikon, cucumber consommé (gf) (df)’ and ‘Cipollini onion, carrot hummus, caraway (v) (gf) (df)’. Alongside all the scrumptious canapes and drinks the guests were treated to a fabulous aerobatic show and a lucky few were able to join the talented piolets up in the air!

Whilst the guests were invited to take their seats, our talented chefs were hard at work ensuring that all 300 guests had exquisite food. To start with they tucked into a delicious ‘Smoked aubergine filo tart, ras el hanout, preserved lemon, pomegranate, sunflower dukkah (v) (n) (df)’ followed by a mouth watering ‘Slow cooked short rib, baby onions, peas, wild garlic beurre blanc, potato fondant (gf)’. After a filling meal, the guests were (of course) craving something sweet! As per usual, we were there to ensure all the guests’ desires were met with our ‘Muscovado custard tart, pressed apple, blackberry sorbet (v)’ which went down an absolute storm with and rounded off the sumptuous meal seamlessly.

However, the night was not over just yet… with drinks flowing and people dancing, it was an indescribable atmosphere. The band played until the early hours of the morning and of course the Stones Events team were there to help celebrate such a successful night (and to ensure no one’s glass was empty!).

With such a beautiful cause, it is always an honour to be a part of this event and we look forward to next year’s.
