Ani and James’ Wedding

Living in London, Ani and James wanted us to manage all of their wedding – the whole shebang, from the marquee, to the lighting, stationery and the entertainment in the evening.

They had picked a venue – Cranford Hall in Northamptonshire – James’ parents live there so there could be no other choice for them. And it is so pretty! The garden was the perfect setting for the traditional, poled marquee, and Ani and James wanted festoon lighting and lanterns hanging in the trees. Classy country is what they were going for…

Simple, pastel flowers decorated the dining tables, with crisp white cloths, wooden cross back chairs and our mirror bar reflecting the coconut matting of the marquee. The stationery was kept simple, with black type being set off by clean, white card.

Ani and James were quite traditional when it came to the wedding breakfast – they wanted to make sure they guests didn’t go hungry, whilst ensuring they were served with beautifully presented dishes. They decided on crab ravioli, followed by beef check and a classic lemon tart for dessert.

Ani wanted a bit of German influence in the evening menu, so we served the guests bratwurst with Lowensenf in buns for the later snacks, which were very popular. These were served alongside hot pork rolls, the perfect companions!

After cutting the naked Victoria Sponge cake, Ani and James danced their first dance to Ho Hey by The Lumineers. They were both really keen to have a Mumford and Sons-esque band, and seasoned guitarist Ritchie and Benji were the perfect selection for them. These two have played at various events for us, and their upbeat, acoustic style had the party bouncing all evening!
