Stones Events head back to Nottingham this July, and look forward to hosting the 20th British Wheelchair Open for the third consecutive year, again providing refreshments for 175 players from 25 countries who compete in the event, umpires, and those behind the scenes.
Wheelchair Tennis is one of the fastest growing wheelchair sports, with a range of activities to suit all standards. It is played according to the Rules of Tennis, but with the one exception that a wheelchair player is allowed two bounces of the ball, providing the first bounce is within the usual parameters of the court.
With the whole nation in a frenzy around the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, and the Special Olympics being held this summer in Leicester, this prestigious competition looks set to be more popular than ever before, held in the Nottingham Tennis Centre from 21st - 26th July 2009.
